Enamel wash / filter for grimdark miniatures and weather effects
Vile Tinge Green is a sea-green, grimy enamel wash specifically designed to give models a decayed, rotten, or diseased look—think mud, moss, mold, rotten wood, or slimy, organic surfaces. Ideal for sci-fi, horror, post-apocalyptic, or grimy worlds where decay, corrosion, or disease are suggested.
Deep green with yellow undertones:
The color men – a dull, dirty green shade with subtle yellow nuances – works particularly well on rot, slime, moss or pollution, and gives a natural, “unfinished” look to surfaces.
Weathering effects (moss, rot, slime):
Use Vile Tinge Green specifically to simulate rot, weathering, moss growth, mold, or slimy deposits on armor, architecture, reliefs, or sculptures — giving your model a weathered, dilapidated look.
Satin to matte finish:
Once dry, the wash provides a satin to matte finish — which works great for suggesting realistic, dirty, or weathered surfaces without the sheen.
Suitable for brush and airbrush (dilutable):
You can apply Vile Tinge Green directly with a brush or, diluted with thinner/mineral spirits, use it in your airbrush. The transparent "filter" effect is particularly effective when used with an airbrush.
Flexible in combination & reduction:
Because it's an enamel wash, you can easily remove excess or tone it down with thinner, giving you complete control over intensity and nuance — perfect for subtle layers of makeup or dramatic highlights.
