Enamel wash / filter for miniatures & grimdark weathering
Blighted Bone Ochre is a warm, ochre-like enamel wash designed to realistically render bones, weathered materials, or weathered skin and clothing. Ideal for miniatures featuring skulls, bones, weathered clothing, or light, distressed surfaces, it's excellent for use in grimdark, horror, or fantasy settings.
Warm ochre tone:
The wash has a soft, yellow-beige ochre color that makes bones, yellowed tissue, or weathered objects look natural — perfect for skeletal parts or old, weathered surfaces.
Versatile – bones, skin, materials:
While Blighted Bone Ochre is often used for “bones and skulls,” it is also suitable for light skin tones, distressed leather, fabric, robes, or other surfaces that require a weathered, aged look.
Transparent filter / subtle wash:
This wash is relatively transparent and works well as a filter overlay—especially when diluted with paint thinner and applied thinly. This makes it ideal for subtle effects.
Satin to matte finish:
Once dry, it provides a subtle satin to matte finish — ideal for suggesting realistic, dusty, or weathered surfaces without sheen.
Suitable for brush and airbrush:
Blighted Bone Ochre is thinnable with mineral spirits/thinner and can be used with both brush and airbrush, offering flexibility in application: from detailed work to area or filter effects.
