Warhammer 40,000 – Tyranids – Toxicrene – 51-20
This is a web-exclusive item – different discounts apply than to the regular Games Workshop range.
The Toxicrene is a horrifying Tyranid bioform that chokes the battlefield with toxic spore clouds and crushes enemies with long, writhing tentacles. Where some Tyranids rely on speed or sheer numbers, the Toxicrene brings an ominous blend of monstrous presence, area denial, and close-combat danger.
Toxic Mid-Table Pressure
On the battlefield, the Toxicrene is ideal for Tyranid players who want to deploy a large monster to threaten zones and put pressure on enemy infantry. Its massive tentacles and toxic aura make it perfect as a mid-table threat, forcing opponents to choose between keeping their distance or risking being engulfed by a living cloud of poison.
It fits well into aggressive Tyranid armies that field multiple large bioforms simultaneously, as well as lists that aim to build pressure around objectives with monsters, Warriors, and smaller broods.
Can be built as a Toxicrene or Maleceptor
This kit can be built as a Toxicrene or a Maleceptor. The Toxicrene is the more physical, venomous close-range variant, featuring a crown of dorsal chimneys and twelve massive tentacles that give the model a highly distinctive silhouette.
The Maleceptor is the alternative build option and places more emphasis on the psychic horror of the Tyranid Hive Mind. This makes the box extra interesting for players who want flexibility when expanding their Hive Fleet.
Painting fun with tentacles, venom, and organic horror
For painters, the Toxicrene is a striking project full of organic forms. The large carapace plates are ideal for your Hive Fleet colour scheme, while the tentacles, mouth, spore vents, and skin folds offer plenty of room for slimy effects, toxic gradients, and glossy details.
The scenic base with a crushed Space Marine Terminator adds extra narrative to the model. You can enhance the theme with acid pools, cracked ground, decaying biomass, jungle elements, or broken Imperial flooring.
