Warhammer Tone Pro Ultramar Blue 3 is the central midtone within the five-part Ultramar Blue color range. This bright ultramarine blue hue is ideal as a primary base color for armor, uniforms, cloaks, vehicles, and other classic blue surfaces.
Midtone of the Ultramar Blue range
Warhammer Tone Pro works with color ranges of five ascending shades. Ultramar Blue 3 forms the middle of this range, making it excellently suited as a central base color.
Use Ultramar Blue 1 and 2 for deeper shadows and then work with Ultramar Blue 4 and 5 towards lighter areas and sharp highlights.
Ideal for armor and classic blue color schemes
The bright ultramarine blue color works excellently for armor plates, uniforms, cloaks, and vehicles. Ultramar Blue 3 is also very useful for shields, heraldry, and technical details.
As a central midtone, this color offers enough saturation to stand out immediately, while leaving enough room for both deep shadows and lighter highlights.
Versatile Tone Pro formula
Ultramar Blue 3 can be used for basecoating and layering, as well as for highlighting, glazing, and drybrushing.
By combining the paint with the other Ultramar Blue shades, you can build up a complete blue color gradient without having to mix different intermediate colors yourself.
Usage
Shake the paint well before use. Apply Ultramar Blue 3 as the central base color and work in several thin layers for an even finish. Use Ultramar Blue 1 and 2 for the shadows and Ultramar Blue 4 and 5 to further build up the lighter volumes and highlights.
