Warhammer Tone Pro Magnus the Red 4 is a lighter reddish-purple shade within the five-part Magnus the Red color range. This color is ideal for building initial highlights on armor, robes, demonic skin, mutations, and other warm fantasy or sci-fi details.
Lighter shade of the Magnus the Red range
Warhammer Tone Pro works with color ranges of five ascending shades. Magnus the Red 4 forms the first distinct highlight above the central Magnus the Red 3 midtone.
Use Magnus the Red 1 and 2 for the deeper shadows, Magnus the Red 3 as the central base color, and then work with Magnus the Red 4 and the lighter Magnus the Red 5 towards the highest parts and sharpest highlights.
Ideal for armor, skin, and dark effects
The light reddish-purple shade works excellently for edges of armor plates, high folds in robes, and protruding parts of demonic skin or mutations. Magnus the Red 4 is also highly useful for magical energy, ornate details, and supernatural effects.
Applying the color specifically to raised areas creates extra contrast, while the deeper reddish-purple tones from the previous layers remain visible.
Versatile Tone Pro formula
Magnus the Red 4 is suitable for layering and highlighting, but can also be thinned for use in glazing and soft color transitions.
The paint is also well-suited for drybrushing on textured surfaces and for further building up bright magical or organic effects.
Usage
Shake the paint well before use. Apply Magnus the Red 4 in thin layers to raised areas above Magnus the Red 3. Use this shade for broader highlights and then work with Magnus the Red 5 on the sharpest edges and most illuminated details.
