Warhammer Tone Pro Magnus the Red 2 is a dark red-purple shade within the five-part Magnus the Red color range. This second tone forms the transition between the deepest shadow and the central midtone and is ideal for armor, robes, demonic skin, and magical effects.
Second tone of the Magnus the Red range
Warhammer Tone Pro works with color ranges of five ascending tones. Magnus the Red 2 is positioned directly above Magnus the Red 1, making it suitable for dark midtones and the first lighter layers.
Use Magnus the Red 1 for the deepest shadows and then work with Magnus the Red 3, 4, and 5 toward increasingly lighter red-purple areas and highlights.
Ideal for armor, skin, and dark effects
The dark red-purple color works excellently for armor plates, cloaks, robes, and ornate details. Magnus the Red 2 is also very useful for demonic skin, mutations, magical energy, and other dark fantasy or sci-fi effects.
As a transitional color, this tone helps to gradually connect deep shadows with the brighter colors from the rest of the range.
Versatile Tone Pro formula
Magnus the Red 2 can be used for basecoating and layering, but can also be applied thinned for glazing and smooth color transitions.
The paint is also suitable for highlighting and drybrushing on skin, fabrics, armor, and other surfaces with distinct texture.
Usage
Shake the paint well before use. Apply Magnus the Red 2 as a dark base color or as the first lighter layer over Magnus the Red 1. Then continue working with Magnus the Red 3 through 5 to build up increasingly lighter volumes and highlights.
