Warhammer Tone Pro Hive Fleet Purple 4 is a lighter purple tone within the five-part Hive Fleet Purple color range. This color is ideal for building initial highlights on chitin, organic armor, monster skin, and other alien or sinister surfaces.
Lighter tone of the Hive Fleet Purple range
Warhammer Tone Pro works with color ranges of five ascending tones. Hive Fleet Purple 4 forms the first distinct highlight above the central Hive Fleet Purple 3 midtone.
Use Hive Fleet Purple 1 and 2 for the deeper shadows, Hive Fleet Purple 3 as the central base color, and then work with Hive Fleet Purple 4 and the lighter Hive Fleet Purple 5 toward the highest areas and sharpest highlights.
Ideal for chitin, skin, and organic surfaces
The light purple tone works excellently for edges and protruding parts of alien armor plates, chitin, and claws. Hive Fleet Purple 4 is also highly useful for monster skin, tentacles, cloaks, and other fantasy or sci-fi details.
By applying the color specifically to raised areas, extra contrast is created, while the deeper purple tones from the previous layers remain visible.
Versatile Tone Pro formula
Hive Fleet Purple 4 is suitable for layering and highlighting, but can also be used thinned for glazing and soft color transitions.
The paint is also well-suited for drybrushing on organic structures, armor, and other highly textured surfaces.
Use
Shake the paint well before use. Apply Hive Fleet Purple 4 in thin layers on raised areas above Hive Fleet Purple 3. Use this tone for broader highlights and then work with Hive Fleet Purple 5 on the sharpest edges and most protruding details.
