Warhammer Tone Pro Hive Fleet Purple 1 is the darkest shade within the five-part Hive Fleet Purple colour range. This deep purple colour is ideal for shading, dark base colours, and building up rich purple gradients on chitin, armour, skin, fabrics, and alien details.
Darkest shade in the Hive Fleet Purple range
Warhammer Tone Pro works with colour ranges consisting of five ascending shades. Hive Fleet Purple 1 forms the darkest starting point and is intended for the deepest shadow areas within a vibrant purple gradient.
Continue working with Hive Fleet Purple 2 through 5 to build up increasingly lighter mid-tones and highlights without having to mix multiple intermediate colours yourself.
Ideal for chitin, skin, and organic surfaces
The very dark purple shade works excellently for alien armour plates, chitin, claws, and organic armour. Hive Fleet Purple 1 is also highly useful for monster skin, tentacles, cloaks, and other sinister fantasy or sci-fi details.
As a dark base, this colour provides sufficient depth to make the lighter purple shades from the range stand out strongly.
Versatile Tone Pro formula
Hive Fleet Purple 1 is suitable for basecoating, shading, and layering. When thinned, the paint can also be used for glazing and deepening shadows without harsh transitions.
As a dark undercoat for subsequent highlights, this shade also provides a strong foundation on organic structures, armour, and other texture-rich surfaces.
Usage
Shake the paint well before use. Apply Hive Fleet Purple 1 as a dark base colour or place the shade selectively in recesses and deep shadows. Then, work with Hive Fleet Purple 2, 3, 4, and 5 towards increasingly lighter purple volumes and highlights.
