Warhammer Tone Pro Gnarlwood 5 is the lightest shade within the five-part Gnarlwood color range. This light, muted grey-brown color is intended for final highlights on wood, leather, earth, and other natural surfaces.
Lightest shade of the Gnarlwood range
Warhammer Tone Pro works with color ranges of five ascending shades. Gnarlwood 5 forms the final step in the color gradient and is therefore ideal for the sharpest highlights and most prominent details.
Use Gnarlwood 1 and 2 for deep shadows, Gnarlwood 3 as a central midtone, and Gnarlwood 4 as the first highlight. Gnarlwood 5 then adds extra contrast and definition to edges and textures.
Ideal for sharp highlights
The light brownish-grey shade works excellently on worn leather edges, wood grain, tree bark, dry earth, and weathered scenery. Applying the color sparingly to the highest parts creates a clearer sense of depth and texture.
Gnarlwood 5 is also highly suitable for edge highlighting and controlled drybrushing on surfaces with high relief.
Versatile Tone Pro formula
The Tone Pro formula can be used for various painting techniques. Gnarlwood 5 works excellently for layering, highlighting, and drybrushing, but can also be thinned for subtle glazes and soft transitions.
By combining the full Gnarlwood range, you can build a consistent color gradient without having to mix lighter shades yourself.
Usage
Shake the paint well before use. Apply Gnarlwood 5 sparingly to the highest parts and sharpest edges of a surface. For a natural gradient, use Gnarlwood 4 as an intermediate step before adding this lightest shade.
