Warhammer Tone Pro Gnarlwood 2 is a dark grey-brown shade for natural materials such as wood, leather, straps, and weathered surfaces. Within the five-part Gnarlwood range, this color forms the second step from the deepest shadow toward the base tone and lighter highlights.
Second shade of the Gnarlwood range
Warhammer Tone Pro works with color ranges of five progressive shades. Gnarlwood 2 is positioned directly above Gnarlwood 1 and is therefore ideal for building up dark midtones after the deepest shadows have been applied.
Combine the color with Gnarlwood 1 for added depth and then continue working with Gnarlwood 3, 4, and 5 for increasingly lighter volumes and highlights.
Ideal for wood and leather
The muted brown color with a slight grey undertone works excellently for wooden weapon hafts, leather straps, boots, bags, and other natural materials.
Gnarlwood 2 is also a versatile color for tree bark, dark earth, ruins, and scenery. The neutral undertone ensures that the paint combines easily with both warm and cool color schemes.
Versatile Tone Pro formula
Warhammer Tone Pro paints are designed to allow various painting techniques within the same color range. Gnarlwood 2 can be used for basecoating and layering, but can also be applied thinned for glazing and smooth color transitions.
By combining the paint with the other Gnarlwood shades, you can build up controlled shadows, midtones, and highlights without having to mix colors yourself.
Usage
Shake the paint well before use. Apply Gnarlwood 2 as a dark base color or as the first lighter layer over Gnarlwood 1. Use multiple thin coats for even coverage and combine with Gnarlwood 3 through 5 to further build up highlights.
