Warhammer Tone Pro Carthalos Skin 1 is the darkest shade within the five-part Carthalos Skin color range. This very deep brown tone is developed for dark skin tones and works excellently as a shadow or base color for faces, hands, and other skin surfaces on miniatures.

Darkest shade of the Carthalos Skin range

Warhammer Tone Pro works with color ranges of five ascending shades. Carthalos Skin 1 forms the darkest starting point and is intended for the deepest shadows and darkest parts of the skin.

Then, continue working with Carthalos Skin 2 through 5 to gradually build up lighter midtones and highlights without having to mix multiple intermediate colors yourself.

Ideal for dark skin tones

The deep brown color works excellently for building up dark human skin, but can also be used for other warm organic surfaces. Think of leather, dark wood, horns, and weathered brown materials.

By placing the color in a controlled manner in recesses and shadow areas, a solid foundation is created upon which lighter skin tones will clearly stand out.

Versatile Tone Pro formula

Warhammer Tone Pro paints are developed to allow for multiple painting techniques within the same color range. Carthalos Skin 1 can be used for basecoating, shading, and layering, but can also be applied thinned as a glaze.

This makes the color suitable for both quick tabletop results and for more controlled skin gradients using multiple thin layers.

Use

Shake the paint well before use. Apply Carthalos Skin 1 as a dark base color or use the paint specifically in the deepest shadow areas. Then continue working with Carthalos Skin 2, 3, 4, and 5 to build up skin volumes and highlights step by step.
