Warhammer Tone Pro Carmine Blades 3 is the central midtone within the five-part Carmine Blades colour range. Its deep burgundy colour is ideal as the main base colour for red armour, cloaks, fabrics, heraldry, and other dark red surfaces.
Midtone of the Carmine Blades range
Warhammer Tone Pro works with colour ranges of five ascending shades. Carmine Blades 3 forms the middle of this range, making it excellently suited as a central base colour.
Use Carmine Blades 1 and 2 for the deeper shadows and then work towards lighter red areas and sharp highlights with Carmine Blades 4 and 5.
Ideal for dark red armour and fabrics
The burgundy colour works excellently for power armour, shields, cloaks, tabards, and banners. Carmine Blades 3 is also highly usable for heraldry and other warm red details.
As a central midtone, the colour provides a rich red base without becoming too bright too quickly, leaving sufficient room for both deep shadows and lighter highlights.
Versatile Tone Pro formula
Carmine Blades 3 can be used for basecoating and layering, as well as for highlighting, glazing, and drybrushing.
In combination with Tone Pro Shading Medium, you can thin the paint for more transparent layers, while Blending Medium provides extra working time for smooth transitions between the different Carmine Blades shades.
Use
Shake the paint well before use. Apply Carmine Blades 3 as a central base colour and work in multiple thin layers for an even coverage. Use Carmine Blades 1 and 2 for the shadows and Carmine Blades 4 and 5 to further build up the lighter volumes and highlights.
