Warhammer Tone Pro Carmine Blades 2 is a dark red hue within the five-part Carmine Blades color range. This second color forms the transition between the deepest shadows and the central red tone and is ideal for building up rich red surfaces on armor, clothing, and heraldry.
Second tone of the Carmine Blades range
Warhammer Tone Pro works with color ranges of five ascending tones. Carmine Blades 2 is positioned directly above Carmine Blades 1, making it suitable for dark midtones and the first lighter layers.
Use Carmine Blades 1 for the deepest shadows and then work with Carmine Blades 3, 4, and 5 toward increasingly lighter red surfaces and highlights.
Ideal for red armor and fabrics
The dark red color works excellently for power armor, shields, cloaks, tabards, and banners. Carmine Blades 2 is also well-suited for heraldry, leather details, and other warm surfaces.
As a transition color, this tone ensures that dark red shadows gradually blend into brighter red midtones.
Versatile Tone Pro formula
Warhammer Tone Pro paints are developed for multiple painting techniques within the same color range. Carmine Blades 2 can be used for basecoating and layering, but can also be thinned for glazing and soft transitions.
The paint is also useful for highlighting when working from a very dark red or near-black base.
Usage
Shake the paint well before use. Apply Carmine Blades 2 as a dark base color or as the first lighter layer over Carmine Blades 1. Then continue working with Carmine Blades 3 through 5 to build up increasingly brighter red volumes and highlights.
