Warhammer Tone Pro Blending Medium is a miniature painting medium that slows down the drying time of acrylic paint. This gives you more time to blend colors wet-on-wet and build smooth gradients on skin, fabric, armor, and other surfaces.
More working time for smooth transitions
Blending Medium extends the time the paint remains workable. This makes it easier to blend two or more shades directly on the model before the paint dries.
This is especially useful for wet blending, where adjacent colors are mixed on the surface to reduce visible transitions and harsh lines.
Ideal for the Tone Pro color system
The medium is particularly practical when used with the five sequential shades of a Warhammer Tone Pro color range. By processing, for example, Tones 2, 3, and 4 with Blending Medium, you can create smoother transitions between shadows, midtones, and highlights.
The medium does not add any color itself, keeping your chosen paint colors central to your blending process.
Suitable for organic and large surfaces
Blending Medium excels on surfaces where soft color gradients are important. Think of skin, muscles, cloaks, large armor plates, wings, monster hide, and vehicles.
The extra working time is also useful for larger models and display miniatures when you want to process multiple shades together in a controlled manner.
Use
Mix a small amount of Blending Medium with your chosen Tone Pro paint and apply the colors while they are still wet. Gently work the adjacent shades into each other with a clean or slightly damp brush for a smooth transition.
Experiment with the amount of medium depending on the desired working time and technique. The product is intended to slow down the drying time; it is not a replacement for a shade or wash.
