Warhammer: The Old World – Battle March: General’s Companion – 05-06
Battle March: General’s Companion is a supplement for Warhammer: The Old World that focuses on smaller, fast-paced, narrative battles. Instead of pushing huge armies across the table, you assemble compact forces around a leader, a few loyal units, and clear scenario objectives.
Small armies, big decisions
Battle March is ideal for players who want to play Warhammer: The Old World with fewer models, shorter playing time, and more emphasis on scenarios. Armies of approximately 400 to 750 points make it easier to try out a new faction, build a compact thematic force, or play an evening game more quickly.
The format retains the classic rank-and-file basis of The Old World but brings the action to a smaller scale where every unit, charge, and objective choice feels important.
Narrative campaign in the Axe Bite Pass
This General’s Companion includes a full narrative campaign set around the infamous Axe Bite Pass. With six special scenarios, you can play a series of battles that together form a larger story, perfect for clubs, regular gaming groups, or hobbyists who want more cohesion between their battles.
In addition, the book further expands the scenario rules for Battle March with extra primary objectives, more scenario maps, and new optional secondary objectives. This gives you a lot of variety to set up your own campaigns, events, or standalone narrative games.
Additional rules, events, and magic items
To make Battle March games unpredictable and atmospheric, the supplement also includes random happenings, divided into themes such as weather, rough terrain, and the chaos of war. Think of sudden weather conditions, dangerous landscape effects, or unexpected events that can completely change a battle.
The book also contains new magic items specifically designed for smaller Battle March games. These give characters and champions extra options without immediately taking up too much of your points budget.
Useful for campaigns, events, and new players
Battle March is a strong way to introduce new players to Warhammer: The Old World. You need fewer models than in large games but still get the feeling of formations, leaders, maneuvers, and decisive battles.
For experienced players, this supplement is particularly interesting as a toolbox for quick campaigns, narrative weekends, store evenings, and small-scale matched play events.
