Warhammer 40,000 – T’au Empire – Kroot Farstalkers – 56-67
The Kroot Farstalkers are seasoned hunters, trackers, and mercenaries within the Kroot auxiliary forces of the T’au Empire. Where Fire Warriors rely on discipline and advanced firepower, Farstalkers operate as stealthy scouts: tracking their prey, choosing the right moment, and striking from cover with blades, rifles, and field tricks.
Cunning Hunters for T’au Empire and Kill Team
On the battlefield, Kroot Farstalkers are ideal for players who want to give their T’au army more character, infiltration, and organic board presence. They fit well into a Kroot-heavy army with Kroot Carnivores, Kroot Hounds, Krootox Riders, and a War Shaper, but also work as a thematic scouting unit within a broader T’au Empire army.
In Kill Team, they feel like a flexible hunting pack with various specialists. They reward players who make good use of cover, positioning, and targeting vulnerable objectives.
Specialists, Pech’ra, and Kroot Hunting Culture
This set builds a complete group of Kroot Farstalkers with a clear mix of hunters, specialists, and command. The Kill-broker leads the group, while operatives with various weapons and tools provide flexibility at short and medium range.
The included Pech’ra gives the unit extra character and perfectly fits the Kroot’s hunting theme. Visually, this is one of the most atmospheric Kroot sets: blades, hides, trophies, braided gear, T’au tech, and crude field materials come together in one compact, narrative unit.
Painting Fun with Skin, Leather, and Trophies
For painters, Kroot Farstalkers are an excellent set for combining natural colors and small details. Think of green, brown, yellow, or reddish skin tones, weathered leather, bones, feathers, beads, blades, crude weapons, and subtle T’au technology.
Bases with jungle plants, dry savannah, rocks, alien foliage, marshland, or overgrown ruins perfectly match their role as hunters who can track their prey through any terrain. By giving each specialist small color accents or warpaint, the kill team quickly gains its own identity.
