Warhammer 40,000 – Necrons – Battleforce: Necron Host – 49-71
The Necron Host Battleforce awakens a slumbering dynasty with a strong mix of command, infantry, melee threat, and heavy Canoptek fire support. Led by a Catacomb Command Barge, the Necrons march onto the battlefield to reclaim worlds they believe have always belonged to their empire.
A Strong Foundation for a Necron Army
This battleforce is ideal for players looking to start a Necron army or expand an existing dynasty with a versatile core. The box contains 37 plastic miniatures, from classic Necron Warriors and Scarab Swarms to specialized melee units and a heavy support construct.
The combination of durable infantry, swift Canoptek swarms, menacing assault units, and long-range fire makes the set suitable for various playstyles. You can hold objectives with Warriors, harass the enemy with Scarabs, exert pressure with Flayed Ones and Ophydian Destroyers, and threaten heavy targets with the Canoptek Doomstalker.
Command Barge and Heavy Fire Support
The Catacomb Command Barge forms the command center of this force. This hovering vehicle provides your army with a strong Necron centerpiece and can alternatively be built as an Annihilation Barge, allowing you to choose between a command-oriented or a more firepower-oriented build.
The Canoptek Doomstalker adds heavy fire support to the box. With its tall, insect-like silhouette and menacing doomsday weapon, it feels like a perfect guardian of a tomb world: stately, cold, and deadly as soon as enemies draw too close.
Flayed Ones, Ophydian Destroyers, and Endless Warriors
The Necron Warriors form the core of the battleforce. Together with the Canoptek Scarab Swarms, they are excellent for occupying terrain, claiming objectives, and slowly but surely gaining control of the battlefield.
The Ophydian Destroyers and Flayed Ones provide the aggressive side of the box. They bring close-combat threat, disrupt enemy plans, and give your army more pressure than a pure gunline. This makes the Necron Host a fine, varied base for players who not only want to shoot but also actively maneuver and attack.
Painting Fun with Metal, Energy, and Tomb World Theme
For hobbyists, this battleforce offers a lot of variety. The Warriors and Scarabs are ideal for quickly establishing a dynasty color scheme, while the Command Barge and Doomstalker allow more room for larger surfaces, glow effects, and weathering.
Think classic weathered metal, green gauss energy, black or bronze dynasty panels, sandy tomb world bases, crystals, broken ruins, or cold blue energy effects. The Flayed Ones add extra contrast with skin, bloody details, and gruesome trophies.
