The Hill Tribesmen Commanders bring leadership and brutal vengefulness to the warriors of the hill tribes. This command set is designed to give your Hill Tribesmen warband more character, structure, and menace as they invade the lands of Rohan and attack their ancient enemies.
Leaders for the Hill Tribesmen
Hill Tribesmen are rough, embittered fighters who do not fight with the discipline of Gondor or the knightly pride of Rohan. Their strength lies in numbers, aggression, and overwhelming the enemy with axes, spears, torches, and brutal determination.
With these commanders, you give your force the important support a warband needs. The Captain can lead your warriors, the banner helps your line hold in battles, and the hornblower adds both atmosphere and practical battlefield support to your army.
Perfect for War of the Rohirrim and Westfold scenarios
This set fits excellently with armies centered around the Hill Tribes, Wulf’s warbands, and scenarios from the war against Rohan. They are particularly well-suited for battles around Edoras, the Westfold, and other narrative confrontations in which the fierce tribes from the Dunland area advance against the Rohirrim.
In combination with regular Hill Tribesmen, you get a thematic infantry force that is ideal for narrative play, scenarios, and army building within the Evil side of the Middle-earth Strategy Battle Game.
Painting fun with leather, fur, and crude weapons
For painters, these commanders offer a lot of character in a small format. Think weathered leather, dark fabrics, crude metals, wooden shields, fur, muddy cloaks, and skin tones that suit hardened warriors from cold hill regions.
The banner is a nice focal point for freehand, dirty cloth textures, or tribal markings. Bases with rocky ground, dry grass, mud, burned settlements, or Westfold ruins fit perfectly with the pillaging theme of these models.
