Horticulous Slimux is the Grand Cultivator of Nurgle’s Garden: an ancient Plaguebearer who treats the battlefield as a neglected garden desperately in need of fertilization with disease, rot, and freshly fallen casualties. Seated upon his massive snail-like mount Mulch, he slowly but inevitably brings Nurgle’s blessings to every place he appears.

Daemonic Gardener for Maggotkin of Nurgle

On the battlefield, Horticulous Slimux is a characterful hero for Maggotkin of Nurgle armies, especially if you enjoy playing with a strong daemonic theme. He fits excellently alongside Plaguebearers, Beasts of Nurgle, Nurglings, Plague Drones, and other daemons that transform the battlefield into a living, rotting extension of Nurgle’s Garden.

He doesn't feel like a fast shock unit, but rather a slowly advancing source of contamination and control. Perfect for players who enjoy tough Nurgle armies that seize objectives, corrupt the board, and increasingly choke the opponent.

Horticulous and Mulch

The model combines the crooked, weathered form of an old Plaguebearer with the massive, slimy presence of Mulch. Horticulous carries his daemonic gardening tools and Nurgle symbolism, while the snail-like mount leaves a trail of decay and growth.

This combination makes him visually distinct from many other Nurgle heroes. He is less knightly than a Harbinger of Decay and less monstrous than The Glottkin, but precisely because of this, he is incredibly characterful: a darkly comical, practical, and utterly foul servant of Grandfather Nurgle.

Painting fun with slime, rot, and gardening details

For painters, Horticulous Slimux is a delightful Nurgle project. Mulch offers ample space for glossy slime effects, pale underbellies, dark shell structures, sickly skin tones, and wet trails on the base. Horticulous himself provides additional details with rotten skin, horns, metallic tools, Nurgle iconography, and small daemonic accents.

Bases with mud, mold, toxic pools, rotting plants, mushrooms, roots, or corrupted earth perfectly suit his role as a cultivator of Nurgle’s Garden.
