Warhammer Age of Sigmar – Maggotkin of Nurgle – Harbinger of Decay – 83-26
This is a web-exclusive item - different discounts apply to this than to the regular Games Workshop range.
The Harbinger of Decay is a sinister prophet of Nurgle, seated upon a festering daemonic steed. Wherever this heavily armoured priest appears, disease, despair, and the inevitable advance of Grandfather Nurgle's will follow.
A Mounted Priest for Maggotkin of Nurgle
On the battlefield, the Harbinger of Decay is a strong support hero for Maggotkin of Nurgle armies. He combines the presence of a frontline commander with the role of a pestilent priest, perfect for players who want to give their army extra thematic support and a menacing leader.
His mounted position makes him visually larger and more imposing than many other Nurgle heroes, while still fitting excellently alongside Putrid Blightkings, Rotbringers, and other slowly advancing units.
For the Frontline of Nurgle's Procession
The Harbinger is armed with a rotsword and can be built with a plague scythe or doom bell. This allows you to tailor the model slightly to your preference: more towards grim execution, or a dark messenger announcing the coming of disease and decay.
The kit also includes three different head options, allowing you to align him well with the look of your warband. Consider a more knightly Rotbringer leader, a completely deranged plague prophet, or a macabre rider who travels the battlefield as an omen of doom.
Painting Fun with Rust, Sores, and a Daemonic Horse
For painters, the Harbinger of Decay is a magnificent Nurgle project. The combination of heavy armour, rotting flesh, a sickly steed, and weathered weapons provides ample scope for rust, slime, pus, tarnished metals, and diseased skin tones.
The 90x52.5mm oval base offers enough space to give the model extra atmosphere with mud, toxic pools, fungi, broken stones, rusty remains, or a trail of infected ground behind its daemonic mount.
