Devlan is doomed. The mining world lies directly in the path of Hive Fleet Kraken, and as the swarm draws closer, the Imperium hastily attempts an evacuation. But the Tyranids have already reached Devlan. Beneath the muddy ground, an exceptionally deadly burrowing organism hunts: The Red Terror.

Against this nightmare stands a determined Astra Militarum Spectre Squad. These hardened veterans must track down and eliminate the beast before it inflicts irreparable damage on the Imperial evacuation efforts.

Asymmetric skirmish battles

Terror on Devlan is an expansion for Warhammer 40,000: Kill Team with a strong narrative focus. Instead of a traditional match between two kill teams, this box centres on the hunt for a massive Tyranid threat. Spectre Squad must survive, gather intelligence, hold position, and ultimately confront the Red Terror in a series of dangerous encounters.

The Red Terror is a Nemesis Operative: a massive non-player operative that acts as the central threat throughout the missions. Additionally, Termagants and a Ripper Swarm provide extra pressure, forcing Astra Militarum players to constantly choose between advancing, firing, retreating, or taking risks.

Solo and cooperative play

This expansion is designed for Joint Ops and can be played both solo and cooperatively. The campaign consists of 9 linked missions, in which you hunt the lurking xenos horror with your Spectre Squad through the mud of Devlan.

For an extra challenge, you can also deploy other kill teams against the Red Terror and its Tyranid support. This makes the set interesting not only as a narrative campaign box but also as a reusable challenge for players who want to test their favourite kill team in a completely different setting.

Spectre Squad against the Red Terror

The Spectre Squad consists of seasoned Astra Militarum veterans who rely on discipline, firepower, communication, and tough survival instincts. The included Vox-Relay Beacon reinforces the military theme and perfectly suits scenarios where coordination and evacuation are central.

Opposing them is the Red Terror: no ordinary opponent, but a terrifying Tyranid predator that strikes from the depths. Together with the smaller Tyranid organisms, this creates a constant threat where every movement through the killzone can have consequences.

Strong hobby box with a cinematic atmosphere

For hobbyists, Terror on Devlan offers a lot of variety. Spectre Squad is ideal for weathered uniforms, Cadian colour schemes, muddy boots, damaged armour plates, and realistic campaign bases. The Cadian transfers give the unit extra identity with squad markings, rank icons, and honour markings.

The Tyranids provide a nice contrast: organic carapaces, claws, slimy skin, toxic accents, and bloody details. The Red Terror itself is an impressive centerpiece for the collection and calls for a striking paint job with menacing shadows, bright xenos colours, or a classic Hive Fleet Kraken scheme.
