The armies of Grand Cathay are renowned for their discipline, formation fighting, and powerful black-powder weapons. With the Grand Cannon & Fire Rain Rocket Battery, you add heavy artillery to your army: perfect for breaking enemy lines, pressuring monsters, or forcing advancing units to reconsider their attack.
Heavy firepower for Grand Cathay
This set builds two artillery pieces, with each weapon able to be assembled as a Cathayan Grand Cannon or a Fire Rain Rocket Battery. This gives you a lot of freedom in assembling your army: choose for direct, heavy cannon shots, for explosive volleys over distance, or build a combination of both.
The Grand Cannon is well suited for players who want reliable long-range threat against large targets, heavy cavalry, or elite units. The Fire Rain Rocket Battery feels more like area control: ideal for bombarding enemy formations, infantry blocks, and crowded parts of the battlefield.
Artillery as the anchor of your line
In a Grand Cathay army, these war machines work excellently behind a solid defensive line of Jade Warriors, Peasant Levy, or other supporting units. They force the opponent to advance, seek cover, or avoid key routes on the battlefield.
The included crew gives the pieces extra character. Each artillery piece has three crew members with cosmetic options matching the chosen weapon, allowing you to visually distinguish your Grand Cannon and Rocket Battery teams.
Painting pleasure with dragon mouths, wood, and gunpowder
For painters, this is a particularly atmospheric Cathay kit. The artillery pieces combine wooden constructions, metal barrels, decorative dragon heads, ammunition, tools, and uniform details. This makes them ideal for rich jade green, red, and gold accents, combined with weathered wood, dark metal, and soot marks.
On the bases, you can nicely reinforce the artillery theme with powder kegs, stone fortress floors, muddy emplacements, snow around the Great Bastion, or scorched earth under the rocket battery.
