Warhammer Age of Sigmar – Cities of Sigmar: Ven Denst’s Hounds
Ven Denst’s Hounds is a characterful Regiment of Renown for Warhammer Age of Sigmar, led by the infamous witch hunters Galen ven Denst and Doralia ven Denst. Together with a group of hardened Wildercorps Hunters, they traverse the Mortal Realms hunting rogue manifestations, corrupt mages, monsters, and other threats that emerge in the shadows of civilisation.
Witch Hunters and Trackers
The ven Densts are a father-daughter duo from the Order of Azyr, specialised in tracking down and eliminating supernatural threats. Where regular Freeguild soldiers march in large formations, these hunters operate with purpose, ruthlessness, and a healthy dose of suspicion.
Their Wildercorps Hunters provide the perfect support: scouts, trackers, and rugged survivors who engage enemies from cover, set ambushes, and use the terrain to their advantage. Together, this set feels like a compact hunting party that ventures forth where a regular army would be too slow or too visible.
Regiment of Renown for Grand Alliance Order
Ven Denst’s Hounds can be deployed as a Regiment of Renown in a Grand Alliance Order army. This makes the set not only interesting for Cities of Sigmar players but also for hobbyists who want to add a thematic hunting unit to another Order army.
On the battlefield, this force is all about mobility, skirmish tactics, and pressuring vulnerable targets. The Wildercorps Hunters can harass enemies from flanks and cover, while Galen and Doralia fulfil the role of cold-blooded monster and magic hunters.
Characterful Models with Rich Lore
This set combines two iconic heroes with a full Wildercorps unit. Galen ven Denst can be built with different weapon arms, including options with a pistol, torch, or sword. Doralia can be built with or without her tall, wide-brimmed witch hunter hat.
The Wildercorps Hunters add a lot of variety with a mix of human hunters, heavy weapons, scouts, and trailhounds. The unit includes a Warden, Arbalester, Trailblazer, Leatherhides, Scouts, and four loyal but dangerous hounds, among others.
Painting Opportunities for Leather, Steel, and Dark Hunting Grounds
For painters, Ven Denst’s Hounds offer a great mix of gothic witch hunter details and rugged frontier gear. Think weathered leather jackets, dark cloaks, rusty knives, crossbows, pistols, hunting dogs, and muddy bases full of grass, roots, ruins, or abandoned roads.
The set fits perfectly with themes such as Excelsis, Lethis, remote Dawnbringer Crusades, or a custom Free City constantly threatened by cults, monsters, and magical anomalies.
