Astrogranite is a Citadel Technical paint that quickly adds texture to the bases of your miniatures. The grey, gritty finish resembles asphalt, concrete, rubble, or rough rock, making it ideal for sci-fi battlefields, city ruins, industrial settings, and dark fantasy bases.

Designed for basing and texture

Citadel Technical paints are made for special effects. Apply Astrogranite directly to the base with an old brush, texture tool, or sculpting tool. After drying, a rough surface is created, which you can further drybrush, shade, or enhance with additional basing materials.

Strong for urban and grimdark themes

This color is excellent for Space Marines, Imperial Guard, Necromunda gangs, Chaos forces, Skaven, undead, and other armies that look good on a dark, weathered surface. Combine Astrogranite with rubble, rusty metal parts, pigment powders, skulls, or static grass for more atmosphere and depth.

Easy to finish with drybrush and wash

Use Astrogranite as a base layer for your base and finish it with, for example, a dark wash and a lighter grey drybrush. This quickly creates a convincing stone, concrete, or asphalt effect without loose sand mixtures or extra glue.
