Citadel Layer: Vulkan Green is a dark, muted green that is ideal for subtle highlights, deep green blends, and building realistic camouflage or armour colours. The colour has a cool, solid appearance and works excellently for military schemes, Salamanders armour, jungle armies, monsters, and natural shadows.
For dark green layers and controlled highlights
As a Layer paint, Vulkan Green is designed to be painted over a base colour or a previous layer. The paint builds up well in thin layers, allowing you to give green surfaces more definition without the result becoming too bright. For example, use it on armour panels, cloaks, uniforms, scales, skin, leaves, and basing details.
Strong for armour, camouflage, and nature themes
Vulkan Green pairs excellently with Salamanders, Astra Militarum, Orks, jungle and forest armies, reptilian monsters, and models with a dark, outdoor look. This shade is also very useful for weathered armour, tactical gear, deep leaf shadows, and subtle military accents.
Great to combine with other green shades
This colour works well as a dark mid-layer or first highlight over very dark greens. For lighter accents, you can combine it with Straken Green, Elysian Green, or Ogryn Camo, depending on how natural or bright you want the final result to be. Thin the paint lightly and work with multiple thin layers for a clean, matte result where sculpt details remain clearly visible.
