Citadel Layer: Karak Stone is a warm sandy brown paint ideal for highlights, soft earth tones, and brightening leather, fabric, wood, and basing details. The colour has a natural beige-brown appearance and works excellently for miniatures with a dry, dusty, or weathered look.
For sandy layers and subtle highlights
As a Layer paint, Karak Stone is designed to be painted in a controlled manner over a base colour or previous layer. The paint builds up well in thin coats, allowing you to give brown, beige, and khaki surfaces more definition without the result becoming too bright. Use it, for example, on cloaks, belts, pouches, boots, weapon shafts, horns, and terrain elements.
Strong for leather, fabric, and dry basing
Karak Stone pairs excellently with fantasy and sci-fi miniatures that have an earthy or realistic look. Think of weathered clothing, dry mud, sandstone, ruins, wooden details, leather equipment, and bases with a desert, savanna, or wasteland theme. This shade is also very useful for subtle highlights on khaki uniforms and beige armour details.
Beautiful to combine with other earth tones
This colour works well as a highlight over darker browns, sand colours, and khaki tones. For sharper accents, you can lighten it further with lighter beige or bone-coloured paint. Thin the paint slightly and work with multiple thin coats for a neat, matte result where the details of your miniature remain beautifully visible.
