DM Stash – 5E Campaign: The Red Autumn Pt III – A Wild Hunt
In A Wild Hunt, autumn draws to a close and winter approaches, but for the hunters of the World Explorers’ & Hunters’ League, the real danger is just beginning. Across Tharador, monsters appear that are too deadly, too strange, or too notorious for ordinary mercenaries. Villages, cities, and nobles pay gold to those who can track down and eliminate these threats.
The heroes begin as rookie hunters within the League, but each successful hunt brings more prestige, more dangerous contracts, and deadlier prey.
An adventurous 5E campaign full of monster hunts
This 5E campaign is The Red Autumn Pt III and is designed for characters from level 8 to 11. The adventure can be played as a continuation of the previous Red Autumn installments but also works well as a standalone campaign focused on elite monster hunters, perilous journeys, and contracts throughout Tharador.
The tone is adventurous, rugged, and epic in scope: from hot deserts to icy plains, from remote wilderness to regions where only the most experienced hunters dare to tread. For players, the campaign revolves around preparation, tracking, building a reputation, and facing enemies that cannot be defeated by brute force alone.
Join the World Explorers’ & Hunters’ League
Central to A Wild Hunt is the World Explorers’ & Hunters’ League, an organization that takes on the most difficult and dangerous jobs. They charge high prices, sometimes lose hunters along the way, but never leave a contract unfinished.
For Dungeon Masters, this offers a strong structure: the party grows within the League, takes on increasingly risky assignments, and travels through various kingdoms of Tharador. Each hunt can feel like its own mini-arc, while the characters’ reputation and progress tie the campaign together.
New option: World Explorers’ & Hunters’ League Guild Talent Tree
In addition to the main adventure, A Wild Hunt includes a new Guild Talent Tree for the World Explorers’ & Hunters’ League. This allows characters to develop as experienced hunters, trackers, and survivors.
This talent tree is perfect for groups who value faction progression. As the heroes rise in rank within the League, they gain access to new benefits that help in the wilderness, during combat, and when hunting increasingly dangerous monsters.
Set Contents
This 5E campaign includes a 158-page campaign PDF for characters from level 8–11. The adventure is designed for approximately 5 to 8+ play sessions, depending on play style, group size, and how much leeway the Dungeon Master gives for travel, preparation, roleplay, and additional hunting contracts.
Additionally, the campaign includes extra game materials such as regional maps of Baldur, Belfrie, Brightstone, Dornat Al Karit, Nan Thalias, and Sudd Tohst, mapping materials of Tharador, 7 original battlemaps, 20 original statblocks, 21 magic items, and 3 premade character sheets with backstories.
