DM Stash – 5E Campaign: Ill Omens Pt III – Aberrant Ascension
In Aberrant Ascension, the Ill Omens saga reaches its apocalyptic climax. The Dragonblight has left the kingdom of Draksborne in ruins, and in the capital city of Sundestra, the disease spreads unhindered through the narrow streets. As despair grows among the survivors, the forces behind the plague reveal their true plan: a terrifying ascension to divine power.
An epic final chapter for high-level 5E
This 5E campaign forms the third part of Ill Omens and is designed for characters from level 16 to 20. This makes it an adventure for experienced heroes who are ready for endgame-worthy threats, difficult choices, and battles against enemies who can determine the fate of an entire kingdom.
Aberrant Ascension connects to the events of Ill Omens Pt I and Pt II, but can also be adapted by Dungeon Masters as a standalone high-level campaign around a decaying capital, a magical plague, or an eldritch conspiracy.
Mind Flayers, psionics, and cosmic horror
While previous parts saw the Dragonblight escalate further and further, this chapter completely pulls back the veil. The heroes are confronted with Mind Flayers, psionic threats, corrupt power, and an enemy who seeks to elevate themselves to something barely mortal.
The atmosphere is dark, desperate, and grand in scale: streets full of contagion, a city on the verge of collapse, and a last chance to prevent Draksborne from being entirely swallowed by aberrant horror.
Rich content for Dungeon Masters
For Dungeon Masters, this campaign offers a robust toolkit for multiple sessions. In addition to the main adventure, Aberrant Ascension includes battlemaps, stat blocks, magic items, premade characters, and a large map of Draksborne. This makes it easy to immediately set up a high-level finale, but also to use components in an existing Dungeons & Dragons 5E campaign.
The new Animus Sorcerer subclass also adds a creative option for players who want to use magic to bring life and purpose to objects around them.
Contents of the set
This 5E campaign contains a 106-page campaign PDF for characters from level 16–20. The adventure is designed for approximately 3 to 6+ play sessions, depending on playstyle, group size, and how much room the Dungeon Master gives for roleplay, investigation, and side quests.
In addition, the campaign includes extra game material such as an A2 printable map of the kingdom of Draksborne, 6 original battlemaps, 12 stat blocks, 3 premade character sheets with backstories, 24 magic items, and the new Animus Sorcerer subclass.
Please note: this product concerns the 5E campaign content. Miniatures, terrain, dice, and physical accessories are not included unless otherwise stated in the product variant.
