Matte Finish: Vallejo Xpress Color paints have a matte finish, making them ideal for creating desired highlights and shadows on models. If desired, this matte effect can be adjusted with different varnishes to achieve a satin or gloss finish, without affecting color quality.

Consistent Application: The paints provide consistent coverage across all 60 colors. They are not as highly pigmented as some other paints, meaning two coats are sometimes needed for the best coverage. This also makes them suitable for use as a unifying glaze.

Non-reactive: An important advantage of Xpress Color is that it has non-reactive properties. This means that additional layers or finishes above or below the Xpress colors will work as intended and remain colorfast.
