Undead
Ominous creatures returning from the dead with a hunger for life
Undead are fearsome and often cursed creatures that have mysteriously returned from the dead. Their appearances range from rotting zombies and terrifying skeletons to deadly vampires and cursed spirits. Undead are usually brought to life by dark magic, curses, or restless souls, and are driven by an irresistible hunger for life force or vengeance. In Dungeons & Dragons (D&D) and Pathfinder , Undead are common enemies, often led by powerful necromancers or cursed overlords. In Warhammer, Undead are part of the Army of the Dead, where they serve as immortal soldiers who obey the orders of vampire overlords and necromancers.
Features
Immortality and Immunity to Fatigue : Because Undead are not alive in the traditional sense, they have no need to sleep, eat, or breathe. This makes them infinitely resilient and immune to many human weaknesses.
Resistance to Psychic and Physical Affect : Undead are often impervious to fear, emotion, and some forms of physical pain, making them formidable foes who are not easily discouraged.
Variety of Undead Types : From reanimated zombies and skeletons to intelligent undead like vampires and ghouls, the Undead have a wide variety of forms and powers, each with their own specific abilities and weaknesses.
Connected to Dark Magic : Most Undead are created through necromantic magic or curses, often having ties to dark spells and curses. As a result, they are often controlled by necromancers or the souls of dark wizards.
Hunger for Life Force : Many Undead are driven by a lust for life force, blood, or vengeance upon the living. This makes them both dangerous hunters and relentless enemies, who will not rest until their hunger is satisfied or their curse is broken.
